The short version. The software is open source under Apache-2.0 and that licence governs your use of it, including its warranty disclaimer. These terms cover this website and any pre-release access.
The part worth reading twice: Helios asks before it acts, but you are responsible for what you approve.
The software
Helios is licensed under the Apache License 2.0. You may use, modify and redistribute it on those terms. The licence text is authoritative; if anything on this website contradicts it, the licence wins.
As Apache-2.0 states, the software is provided "as is", without warranties or conditions of any kind, and the contributors are not liable for damages arising from its use.
What Helios does on your machine — and what that means for you
Helios watches coding-agent sessions, reports what it observes, and prepares actions for you to approve: steer a session, stop one, dismiss a proposal. It is designed never to execute behind your back.
But an approval is an instruction. When you approve an action, Helios carries it out against your machine and your agents, and the consequences are yours — the same as if you had typed the command. Review what you are approving, especially from a phone. Keep backups. Do not approve a change you would not make yourself.
You are also responsible for the agents themselves, the code they write, and any action they take under your account.
Third-party services
Helios can talk to services you choose and configure: a model provider such as Anthropic or Google, using your own API key, and Telegram if you pair the phone lane. Those are your accounts, under those companies' terms, and you pay them directly. We do not resell them, mark them up, or sit in the middle. See the privacy notice for exactly what travels where.
This website
The content here describes software that is not yet publicly released. Nothing on this site is a guarantee that a given feature will ship, ship on a date, or keep working the way it is described. We will keep the description honest and change it when the software changes.
The Helios name, wordmark and the visual design of this site belong to H-Town Systems; the Apache-2.0 licence covers the code, not the branding.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them.
